The important thing to remember is to (a) follow local laws, then (b) run facing traffic, and then (c) run on the side you are predictably expected to be on based on local customs. Depending on where you are in the country, people seem to favour either right or left when it comes to running. Where I am now, people usually walk on the right (we drive on the left), and run on the left.
