One of the great things about this country’s birthday is that there are races all over the place. There are 3 or 4 of them within a quick driving distance from my house, and this year we are doing a different one than usual. Before, we always ran a 10k near Portland. This other race was always a bit too much to drive. Now, though, we live about halfway there already, and the 10k is not too far, but farther. It is time to try a new race.
The afternoon will be filled with a big ol’ barbeque out back of my house, and heading into town for fireworks in the evening.
