		<description>My six year old son broke his tibia (big bone in the leg), and after he was out of the cast, the doctor made a point of saying he needed to stress it a little to get proper bone density back.  And I thought all that pounding was always no good.

BTW, Nordic track makes a treadmill that goes up to a 50% grade and down to a -5% grade.  We have some in the gym.</description>

Thanks for the advice.  You are so right on that downhill thing!  Since the route for my long run is mostly downhill and then mostly uphill on the way back, I definitely noticed I was using different muscles on the way out!  My refereeing has given me plenty of opportunities to run on fields, so I think I have a head start there.  I will re-read this advice when I get home so I can absorb it well before I run today.
