A problem with barefoot running is the insects
Last week, I mowed my lawn barefoot and then did the last mile of a “race” barefoot the next day. After the race, I ran around in the grass with no shoes on for a mile or so. My feet felt pretty good afterwards, although they did get a bit dirty.
Since then, however, my feet have been itching like mad. My guess is that there were fleas in the grass at the park I ran at, since there are a lot of dogs and it took a few days for the bug bites to appear. So, one thing to be aware of when running barefoot, is that you may spend a few days itching like mad afterwards. I am very much looking forward for my legs to heal.
