		<description>I know of the danger associated with dead lifting such as back problems et cetera. I guess that the variation you give here might be a good alternate for the standard stance.</description>

		<description>It really just depends on your build, and certainly isn&#039;t something that will affect everyone. However, in the interest of continuing two of the greatest exercises known to man (deadlift and shrug - a combination is a beautiful thing), there are a couple of basic changes that occur to me :

alter your grip width.
alter your stance.

Both of these will slightly alter the muscles being used, the amount you can lift and the distance the bar travels (this is the key factor).

A thought on the exercise itself : it&#039;s normal to be able to deadlift more than you can shrug - in fact I can&#039;t see how it can be any other way. The weight of the shrug, therefore is a limiting factor. Of course, that may or may not be a major consideration depending on your goals.</description>
