Blaine, excellent post. My wife was wondering what to get me for Christmas, we went right on the web and ordered one. I have talked about getting one for quite some time, but have never made the effort to do so. This is a Christmas present for both of us that we hope will never have to be used.

I think that it was more traumatic to my dog and to the woman that hit me, but that's a story for a different day.

As for getting one, I highly recommend it. It brings a certain peace of mind to both yourself and to your family. I may be a bit paranoid about it, though. When I run road races, I usually put my name and emergency contact info on my race bib even though I wear the road id as well. I figure that it can't hurt.

I keep meaning to get one of these for myself and my wife. I don't want to be a John Doe either. Getting hit by a car must have been a very traumatic experience for you.
