Thanks, WannaBe, and Wes.

As for the 60 minute thing with a clearer explanation:

Boston is the first marathon I am running for a second time. I want to hit every state, but this Spring I don't really have the money to travel and I have a score to settle with the course. After running San Antonio in November of '04, I got sick. As in, I was still sick in March of '05. I couldn't run more than 4 miles at a time until about a month before the Boston Marathon. I got myself to the point where I knew that I could safely run the distance, and I went out nice and slow (for me).

That being said, Boston is my slowest marathon by over 20 minutes from my second slowest. I ran 3:40:37 net, or 3:42:31 gun.

My goal is to run between 2:40 and 2:45 this year; my current PR is in the 2:51 range. After this weekend's run, I do not see it as out of reach to run sub-2:40, which means I'll be needing to run about an 11 or 12 minute PR. When I estimated it, I was thinking I'd need around a 13-15 minute PR, but going sub-2:40 would lower my course time by an hour. Hence, the 60 minutes.

I think the passing reference was much more interesting to read than the whole back story. Basically, saying that I cut an hour off of my marathon time on a course is saying quite a bit, especially since an hour off of any of my other marathons would get me anywhere from a world record to at least a "B" standard Olympic Trials qualifying bid.

I didn't know you were doing Boston! Cool. So you are going to do a 20 miler as a warmup? LOL. That's exciting. I didn't quite follow that 60 minute thing. Too bad the weather was such a beyotch up in the Northeast this weekend. Winter isn't quite ready to let go.
