		<description>If it makes you feel any better, he had not gotten to the stressful part of the marathon.  This could have happened to him in a much shorter race, or (most likely) if he was standing on the sidelines watching the race.  

They don&#039;t have a cause for the cardiac arrest yet, but he was diagnosed with an enlarged heart as a child and that may have had a lot to do with what happened.

Training for a marathon will make it less likely that this is going to happen to you, and it may delay when something like this happens if you are destined for it.  There are some things that you just aren&#039;t going to escape, though, and I&#039;d rather be fit and running when I die than unhealthy and sedentary.</description>

		<description>thanks for posting this blaine. i was shocked and saddened myself when i heard the news of ryan shay&#039;s death. i just turned 40 and have been training for a marathon since the end of june. now, here&#039;s a guy in peak physical condition, and he drops dead. it&#039;s got me a bit spooked.
