This Week Last Year: More books, Lifting Weights, and Dick Pound
This week last year I was fighting off an infection that kept me away from the computer for extended periods.
- Scott continued our series on books by writing about health and fitness books.
- I pointed out that lifting weights is a means to an end and not an end in and of itself.
- In doping news, Dick Pound laughed off an IOC reprimand over his slander of Lance Armstrong. (It turns out that he was right to laugh it off, since it didn’t affect the IOC’s view on his character at all. He has since been nominated for President of the Court for Arbitration of Sport.)
- This week two years ago, I demonstrated how to do pullups and also explained how to do negative pullups. I learned that thirsty people feel more pain. I wrote up a recipe for cooking shark steaks and I wrote a review on The New Rules of Lifting.
