German match-fixing conviction upheld after appeal

Last year, Robert Hoyzer went on trial for rigging German soccer games that he refereed. Hoyzer was sentenced to 29 months. His conviction was upheld this morning following his appeal of the sentence. The federal appeals court rejected the prosecution’s request to overturn the convictions.
