The Boston Red Sox have called up rookie Craig Hansen from the Portland Sea Dogs yesterday, and gave him his first start last night. Hansen did pretty well, striking out 2 of the three batters that he faced and retired.

The kid is not doing too shabby, with a four million dollar, four year contract, and is already playing in the majors. He was drafted this Spring. It is nice to see guys that I saw at the ballpark making their way up, and I hope that he manages to play an active role with the Red Sox in the post season.
