Run to Win

VirtuRace.com has been down for some time as they redesign their website and change their name to Athlinks. They have completed their redesign, and have all of their new features mixed in with their old features. Only current members can log in, however.

They are sending out invitations to return to the site to all of the current members over the course of the week. They state that they will reopen to the public on Monday, October 29^th Friday, November 6^th. I am not really sure whether that means they’ll be available to the public again this Sunday or this Monday Friday or next Monday. If you check back with them on Tuesday in a few weeks, then they will hopefully maybe have become available to the public.

I will review the new website once I have access to it. I have not gotten my email yet…

This past summer I reviewed the VirtuRace.com website, which I really liked. I just tried to visit it again, and it has apparently gone away. They state that they are becoming athlinks and will be back on October 23^rd. I think that VirtuRace is a better name. Hopefully, they will still have the same service that the VirtuRace site provided. Neither the VirtuRace nor the athlinks websites provide any details other than that they will be back at the end of the month.

VirtuRace.com is a neat website that I have recently discovered that aggregates all of the race results that they can find and attempts to associate each result with an individual. You can search on an athlete name, and they will present a list of possible matches based on name, age, gender, and location. Once you have created your own profile, you can claim races as yourself or disassociate yourself from races that are not you.
