The MLB All Star game was last night. I did not watch it; I don’t get cable until mid/late august and it is cancelled by the end of January or beginning of February. The all star game doesn’t seem as important to me as it should, despite the “This one counts…” slogan. That slogan just makes it seem like the MLB is saying “Hey, look at me, I’m really important guys, I mean it! Please…?”

The AL has won the game 8 times in the last 10 years, and tied in one of the other two. In the last 20 years, they have won 15 times and the NL has only won four times. That just doesn’t excite me.

I am much more excited about the AA Eastern League all star game. Maybe because my local team is playing host, and maybe because I am going to be there, but it seems more relevant to me, despite there being no consequence other than seeing some future major leaguers.
