Ty Law signed with the New York Jets, pending his passing a team physical. I am not really surprised by this turn of events. He will be averaging $6 million for 3 years, compared to the $6 million for 4 years that he refused to sign with the Patriots. The Jets released Ray Mickens to make room for Ty Law.

I like how the Sports Filter Blog describes the situation:

The ex-Patriot will fill the hole created by Donnie Abraham’s retirement, and he will also be joining fellow former New Englanders Curtis Martin and Corwin Brown. So, if the Jets can’t beat the Pats, at least they can try to very slowly sign away the team.

I think that was the Bills‘ theory for a while, but that didn’t really work out for them yet. Maybe the Jets will have better luck.
