Brett Favre will still start against Detroit on Sunday, despite having hurt his ankle. He has started 225 consecutive regular season games; every single one for the past 12 years. That is no small accomplishment. What I don’t get is why he seems so old; he is only 36 years old. That is high for an NFL player, but not extremely so. Jerry Rice retired when he was 43. Whenever I see him play, though, I always think Dinosaur for some reason. I don’t know if it is how he handles himself, or that he has been such an institution in Green Bay; it makes no sense to me. Intellectually I could see him playing for a few more years, but I watch him and think, “This guy will have had enough soon.” Of course, I’ve thought that for a few years and it still has not come to pass.
