I implemented the Top Commenters plugin, although I had to make a few changes to it to make sure that it worked the way that I want it to. It will not show anybody who hasn’t posted at least twice, and it will not show trackbacks. That way, the list will stay a bit more relevant. If you provide a website address, then you will get a link to it from my sidebar if you appear on the list. Let me know if you notice anything acting funny.
Update:
The Top Commenters plugin has been updated with a few bug fixes. So, I downloaded and installed that, although it only included one of my improvements to the plugin. You can get the latest version here.
Blaine,
Would you mind passing this plugin along? I might want to implement it on my site. Seems to be working good so far! racking up those comments I am!
You can get the original plugin from the Personal Finance Advice website, but I emailed you my modified version.
Looks like I’ve got a bit of catching up to do – Chris in the lead 🙂
Blaine, how far back does the count start?
I implemented the latest version with my changes, which include a minimum post count and a URL title. As for how long the count goes back, I have it set to all time. At some point I might change it to yearly or monthly, but this site is still small enough and young enough that all comments aren’t going to create astronomically large numbers.
