Today is the last day of the Olympics and there is only one event in Track & Field which actually takes place out in the streets. Here are our 3 Olympians in the Men’s Marathon:

2012 Olympic Trials and Houston Marathon
This past weekend the Olympic Marathon Trials took place in Houston, Texas. A day later, there followed the Houston Marathon. This also happened to be my birthday weekend, so what better way to celebrate a birthday than to watch some amazing athletes and then run a marathon? It was a great weekend. I knew it…

Run to Overcome Book Review
Olympic silver medalist, Mebrahtom Keflezighi, is one of the best, if not the best distance runner that the US has produced in the last few years. This weekend, he’s going to be trying to defend his New York City Marathon title, as he joins up with some of the best runners in the world. It’s…

A Brief Chat with Meb Keflezighi
Yesterday afternoon I had a few minutes to chat with Meb Keflezighi, one of the best marathoners in the United States right now. He ran for UCLA in the mid/late 1990s, and among his many accomplishments, Meb is a 3 time national cross country champion, he won the Silver Medal at the 2004 Olympic Marathon,…

Meb Keflezighi is an American!
I don’t understand the position that some people are taking that Meb Keflezighi is not American enough to be considered the first American to win the marathon since 1982 when Alberto Salazar won. Meb Keflezighi edges Dathan Ritzenhein at USATF Half Marathon Championships
Meb Keflezighi chose a good race for his first half marathon win as he managed to beat Dathan Ritzenhein by 10 seconds this morning in Houston at the USATF half marathon championship race. He won the race in 1:01:25. “I just wanted to make a statement that I’m back and that I’m healthy and that…

TD Banknorth Beach to Beacon 10k (2007)
The 10th annual TD Banknorth Beach to Beacon 10k was this morning in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. As always, it was a closely contested race that is great for spectating. While the temperature was not very high during the race, it was quite humid. The fog burned off over the first 4+ miles before the race…

New York City Marathon
The New York City marathon was this morning. Susan Chepkemei from Kenya had some problems a few miles from the finish, and lost by about 15 seconds to Jelena Prokopcuka of Latvia. I am sure the sports highlight shows will show Chepkemei vomiting as she ran before showing the finish. The men’s finish was very…
