Jeff Reardon robs a jewelry store
Former relief pitcher Jeff Reardon robbed a jewelry store and has been arrested.

[...]He fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. Police found him at a nearby restaurant, recovered the stolen money and charged him with armed robbery. Lt. David O’Neill said Reardon didn’t have a gun and offered no resistance when he was handcuffed. [...] The four-time All-Star was 73-77 with 367 saves and a 3.16 ERA in 16 seasons with the New York Mets, Expos, Twins, Red Sox, Atlanta Braves, Cincinnati Reds and New York Yankees. [...]
His son died a couple of years ago, and he apparently has been taking too much anti-depression drugs. That is what he blames for his actions, anyway. He was not in any sort of financial trouble.
Sad to see, but he should be held accountable for his actions, and I think that he will be. I hope that he gets over his problems and can get back into his community after serving his time. Thankfully, nobody got hurt.
