NFL Network will air 8 regular season games
The NFL Network will air 8 regular season games next season, on Thursdays and Saturdays.
The eight-game package, announced by commissioner Paul Tagliabue on Saturday, will begin with a game on Thanksgiving night. All of the games also will be shown on local stations in the teams’ home markets. The package was created by taking Saturday and Sunday games that originally would have been shown by the league’s broadcast partners or on their regional telecasts.
What I see here is that teams are going to have some short/long weeks now that they will have normal games moved up a day or three, and unless those games are in Foxborough I will not be able to watch them. I will be able to watch the Sunday night games that are moving to NBC, though. This coming at the expense of Monday nights on ESPN. Cable costs too much money.
