Lance Armstrong will run the New York City Marathon
Lance Armstrong is going to run the New York City Marathon this November. He has no plans to start running marathons professionally.
I have about a week to decide if I want to run it as well. I have an automatic qualifying time, but need to register by the end of the month.

That’s awesome!! I hope that he actually runs it this time. Didn’t he say he was going to run last year, but changed his mind so he wouldn’t overshadow his ex-wife’s race or something?? I am a huge Lance Armstrong fan, I’m very interested to see how he does.

I don’t know about last year; this is the first time that I heard about him running it. Apparently, he wanted to run Chicago, but the scheduling wasn’t going to work out.

Last year he was on David Letterman and said that he was going to run NYC. The very next month, Kristen Armstong had another article in Runners World and she commented that she was surprised to hear he was going to run, and a little sad because this was “her thing.” She ended the article by saying that all in all she was glad that he was going to run because if she was going to succeed, she was happy that someone who once loved her would be there to see it.

I had missed that tidbit last year. I think that I am going to run New York this year, though, so I’ll make it a goal to beat him. I bet he trains more than I do for it.
