This week last year had a nice mix of original articles and notables news from the world of sports mixed in with a review of a great product.

  • I further explored doing the bridge exercise on a swiss ball, this time with my feet elevated. I decided it was better to do the exercise with my feet on the floor.
  • Earlsboro High School beat Hanna High School by triple digits. When was the last 112 to 2 basketball game that you watched?
  • Taking time out of your day to have fun can be fun. That is why I talked about taking the time to act like a child for at least a little while every day.
  • Their football seasons ended for both Priest Holmes and Terrell Owens. The former was injured, and the latter just wanted to ruin my fantasy football team. Only slightly related, I doubt that we will see an NFL team in LA any time soon.
  • What I am wondering, is when is Don King going to stage a tournament with all of his heavyweight champions now that Klitschko has retired?
  • I reviewed the GMap Pedometer, which was one of the first (if not the first) online map routing softwares available. I have since moved on to new ones, but the original still has a few features that are missing from the others that I liked. I need to get around to reviewing the other ones I use on a regular basis now that they have been around for a year or so.
  • A question that I get asked fairly frequently is whether it is better to lift first or run first? The answer depends upon your goals, but I generally prefer to lift and then run. I provide some different criteria for deciding which will work better for your unique circumstances.

While I wrote quite a bit this week last year, I only had four articles worth looking back on:

  • I offered some great advice that helps me accomplish my own goals by stating that everyone should plan their workouts. I also provided instruction on how to do a bridge exercise on a swiss ball.
  • I highlighted The Bike Shop, a great community program for local children.
  • The New York City Marathon happened.

The rest of what I wrote about was Red Sox news, football news with Terrell Owens getting suspended and Ty Willingham playing the race card, and a lawsuit between boxers over doping allegations and money.

Anybody that is at all interested in sports should be sick of hearing about Terrell Owens today. He took too many painkillers, mixing them with supplements, and went to the hospital. Whether he tried to commit suicide or just made a stupid mistake he teaches us a very valuable lesson that I have not heard anybody talk about all day. You need to be very careful when you take any sort of medication.

This week last year I was paying a lot of attention to the World Championships in Helsinki and to the latest preseason NFL news.

I borrowed the book from my girlfriend (who I am going to marry in about 12 hours, by the way), and I have since given her the watch. I really need to get around to reviewing my new watch that I used to replace that watch.

Arbitrator Richard Bloch decided that suspension Terrell Owens received was justified and ruled completely in favor of the Eagles.

Arbitrator Richard Bloch wrote in his 38-page decision that there was “no violation of the labor agreement inherent in the club’s decision to pay Mr. Owens, but not to permit him to play or practice due to the nature of his conduct and its destructive and continuing threat to the team.”

Well, Terrell Owens has gone the way of Keyshawn Johnson. Both of them got to sit out the end of an NFL season because they couldn’t keep their mouth shut. TO, however, has to sit longer than Keyshawn Johnson did, and he isn’t getting paid for half of those games. He got what’s coming to him, but man does that hurt my fantasy team’s prospects. Oh well, I know it is wishful thinking, but I hope that nobody offers him a contract next year. He doesn’t deserve one. Somebody will though; there is going to be at least a few coaches that think that they can tame him. Andy Reid thought he could, after all.

The Eagles have suspended Terrell Owens after he mouthed off (again) a few days ago. His beef this time? Nobody said “hoo-rah” when he caught his 100th touchdown pass. And bitching seems to be more fun for him than anything else. He can be suspended without pay for up to 4 games; any longer than that, and the Eagles will have to pay him to stay home. My guess is that they will sit him one game and that he’ll be back next week. Thankfully, I checked on his status this morning, since I had him starting on my fantasy football team. Normally, I’d say bench him for the season, but I’m selfish and he gets me a lot of points so I hope he is back next week. And hopefully he keeps his mouth shut for a change.

10:07 pmSports,

Terrell Owens continued his circus act today when he was booted from training camp, purportedly for snubbing his fans and not signing autographs. He was arguing with coach Andy Reid earlier in the day about running a full speed workout on his own instead of in practice when he was supposed to be rehabbing his groin in the first place.

Neither TO or his agent are saying much about the incident, for which I am grateful. I don’t really want to hear either of them run their mouths off about what probably isn’t that big of a deal in the long run, but for which everybody (include myself) are spouting off because it’s TO and that means drama!
