Yesterday morning, the University of Southern Maine’s cross country team was on the way to a meet in Connecticut when a Dodge Stratus ran a red light and hit their bus. The accident happened in Scarborough after the Westbrook police chased the car through two red lights already. The car was totaled and both men inside were hospitalized. Five members of the cross country team and a coach were also sent to the hospital for minor injuries. They were all released late yesterday. Two of the runners will not be able to compete right away but should be back later in the season.
