Barry Bonds proved me wrong by playing his first game of the season last night in a 4-3 win by the Giants. He got a double at his first at bat, but was scarcely heard from the rest of the game. He left in the 8th inning.

I have to admit; I was not expecting to see him at all this year. Now that the Giants are almost out of contention, he comes back to a standing ovation from his fans. This does not make me overly happy, but I guess not everybody is rubbed the wrong way by the guy like I am.

This does make sense for him though; it will give him an opportunity to test his knee when not much is on the line and to find out where he stands before he goes into his offseason rehab. Bonds has had 3 knee surgeries since January.
