Colonel high school senior Bobby Martin was ejected from a football game because he was not wearing knee pads. Of course, he has no knees, so he does not need knee pads. In fact, he has no lower body at all.

I can appreciate that the officials were worried about his safety, but that does not give them the right to twist an equipment rule that does not apply in an effort to eject a kid. This was his third game, he is almost an adult, and both coaches and athletic directors were aware before the game that he would playing. There is nothing in the rule book that says that kids without legs can not play football. Instead of protecting him, they made him a laughing stock and the center of attention.
