Nathan Schrag and Rohan Taylor tried some rather unorthodox training methods for the Australian swimming team when he staged mock executions during the workouts.

Nathan Schrag, a Royal Australian Navy trainer, pointed the imitation pistol at the heads of two kneeling athletes after they had completed a gruelling two-hour exercise. In his other hand he held a starting pistol with live caps which was fired simultaneously for dramatic effect, with the participants slumping to the ground. Rohan Taylor, the coach responsible for the training programme, said he would not be using the controversial technique again.

While this is certainly innapropriate, I am not so sure it is worth a big fuss. Nor am I really sure what they were trying to accomplish. This seems like the kind of thing that gets blown way out of proportion when some folk that were not involved decide they need to be, despite it not really affecting them.
