Some people get their kicks from watching large guys pretend to wrestle on television; others participate in the actual sport when they are in high school or college. And at least one person went out and wrestled with a polar bear in a village near Quebec.

One Wednesday evening earlier this month, Angyiou was walking near the village community center with her two sons when a group of children playing street hockey nearby started shouting and pointing frantically. Angyiou, 41, turned around and saw a polar bear sizing up her 7-year-old son. She told the children to run and raced around to get between the bear and her son. Then she started kicking and punching the animal, according to police reports.

The 5 foot, 90 pound woman wound up under the 8 foot, 700 pound polar bear after it swatted her to the ground by hitting her in the face. A neighbor came by and shot the bear as she tussled with the bear. Thankfully, she had nothing but scratches and bruises to show for the ordeal.

This isn’t strictly sports related, but it makes for a feel good type of story.
