Defensive tackle Sam Adams was released by the Buffalo Bills this morning, which seems a little silly to me. They are saving $3.5 million in cap room, but he has been a solid starter for the last 3 years for the Bills. Marv Levy (the new general manager) claims that the Bill’s defense suffered last year because they were not able to keep Pat Williams; why would he then release Sam Adams?
Oh well; I have no doubt that he will be able to find a new job in the next few weeks. I still get a chuckle whenever I think of him returning that interception for a touchdown back on September 07 of the 2003 season against the Patriots. There is no sight quite like a 350 pound man sprinting for all he’s worth for 37 yards; even he looked surprised he caught the ball. It’s funny because he didn’t have the heart attack afterwards…
