So how exactly does an Olympic Marathoner spend his days leading up to what will hopefully be one of the greatest races of his career? The folks over at Flotrack sent a camera crew to the Rochester Hills Home Depot in Rochester, Michigan to find out:

“So you’ve got 15 miles in this morning, and then 30 cinder block hauls…”

That has to be my favorite Brian Sell quote in the video. It’s amazing how competitive Americans can be despite being regular people working full time jobs. A lot of the athletes we have competing in the Olympics every few years don’t use their athletic abilities as a full time profession, which is not uncommon in many of the countries they compete against.

The men’s Olympic Marathon will be on Sunday morning in Beijing, or Saturday evening here in the United States, and will be broadcast on NBC.
