Marathoning for Mortals was a big let down. I have to admit; I didn’t read most of this book. I can not see how it could be overly useful even to a beginner.
The book was written by John Bingham and Jenny Hadfield. They have a very disconcerting style in the book where they write in the first person but they switch between who is writing. Instead of just telling you who it is, or letting you figure it out on your own, though, they do a Tonto/Tarzan type speech thing where they lead their section as “I, John, beat chest loudly” or something to that effect. It distracted me from trying to get what they were saying, which didn’t impress me when I did get to it.
I spent a lot of time skipping ahead in this one, and didn’t find any useful nuggets. I can’t recommend it.
