Memorial Day Weekend is the official start to Tourist Season in Maine. What better way to celebrate that then by taking part in the Pineland Farms Festival of Running? The Pineland Farms races began as a small event, and has grown to be a family friendly 2-day event that hosts around 1200 runners in 7…
This past weekend I ran the Combat Cancer 10k cross country race at Pineland Farms. It was a lot of fun and was very well organized for a first year race. The only glitch I’m aware of was that the winner (who had helped marked the course!) got a little turned around halfway through the…
If you’re going to be in a Southern Maine area on September 26, then I highly recommend that you come out to Pineland Farms for the Combat Cancer 10K. It’s a new race, part of the “Fight Back” weekend. On that Saturday they have a bike ride and lobster bake, and then on Sunday is…
My good friend and fellow Trail Monster Jamie Anderson wasn’t able to run on Saturday, but he brought his video camera to catch the action and put together this great video that gives you a good idea of what it was like to race in the Pineland Farms Barefoot 5k: It was a fun race,…
The Pineland Farms Festival of Races was this weekend, and it made what was already a great event into something for the whole family. Along with the normal 25k, 50k and 50 mile races that have been offered for the past few years, an additional day of racing and festivities was added which included 10k,…
I got an email from the folks at the Pineland Farms Trail Challenge and Festival of Races this morning looking for volunteers, so here is some information about what’s going on and what’s needed. If you’ll be in Southern Maine on Memorial Day Weekend, I highly recommend that you come out and run a race…
This past weekend I was out at Pineland Farms for my “long” run (which, given a sore hamstring the past few days, wasn’t that long.) After the run, I ran a little bit of the upcoming Barefoot 5k race course without my shoes to get a good feel for what the terrain will be like…
There’s less than 2 months until the Pineland Farms Trail Challenge on Memorial Day Weekend. I’m really looking forward to the races this year, which have been expanded to take place over 2 days with a lot of new races so that your entire family can take part. I’m definitely planning on running the barefoot…
It’s been about a month since the Pineland Farms Trail Challenge on Memorial Day weekend, and the official photographs are now available. I’ve also done my best compiling all of the race reports that I could find as well as any other sources of photos. So far, my count is up to a dozen race…
I have wanted to take part in the Pineland Farms Trail Challenge for the past few years, but since it is on Memorial Day Weekend and I am rarely home I haven’t been able to until this year. I can now see why everybody raves about how great it is. This is a tough race….
