This week last year I had basically finished moving into my new house but still had no internet access. Most of what I wrote about was more newsy than content, but there were something interesting things to write about last year.
- When I was at the gym, I saw a woman at the gym do something really stupid. She did a leg press and a calf press as a superset, but didn’t engage the locks on the leg press machine as she moved her legs and feet along the platform. I do not recommend taking foolhardy chances like that.
- Bob Sheppard missed his first Yankee home opener in 56 years after he threw out his hip. He has been the public address announcer for the Yanks since 1951.
- In boxing news, Roger Mayweather jumped in the ring after Zab Judah landed a few illegal blows on Floyd Mayweather. He was suspended for a year; Zab Judah was eventually suspended for a year as well.
- I continued my thoughts on the New Rules with New Rule #10 (don’t judge a system by it’s promoter) and New Rule #11 (the work is more important than the program).
