The 2008 running of the Irish Road Rover 5k was this morning in relatively warm but very windy conditions. The team competition was broken into 3 separate types of teams, club teams, open teams and corporate teams.
The usual suspects in the top of the USATF-ME circuit races, Dirigo R.C. and Triad Racing, were conspicuously absent at the top of the club team standings. Scoring required 4 folks to finish, and both teams only fielded 3 runners. The Maine Track Club managed to jump up in the standings and took the club team title with 13 points, beating Moms in Motion by 10 points.
There were 5 corporate teams that scored, led by Tyler Technologies with 24 points, 8 points ahead of Unum.
The open teams were well represented, with 7 teams scoring in the results. Casco Bay Connection led the way with 14 points, destroying Team Tiki by 18 points.
Adam Goode was the overall race leader with a time of 16:23, beating Dan Franek (pictured) by 7 seconds.
Gretchen Chick had a slightly larger lead for her win in 19:07, beating Christine Snow Reaser by 34 seconds.
