Bode Miller wiped out at the finish line of the Lauberhorn race this morning but still beat Didier Cuche by 0.65 seconds. This is his 25th career World Cup win, only 2 shy of the record. It is his fourth downhill victory so far this season, double what he had last season.
“It’s tough. I knew I was pretty much going to crash in the finish if I skied the last ‘S’ like I wanted to,” Miller said. “I was pretty prepared for it. When you ski for 2 minutes, 30 seconds before that and you don’t know how far you’re going to jump, well, let’s say I didn’t have it in my head I was going to land on my feet.”
It seems like the old Bode Miller is back, and the anti-social “the world is out to get me” Bode Miller has disappeared for the time being.
Halfway through the season, and Bode Miller (640 points) is now in 3rd place behind Didier Cuche (651 points) and Aksel Lund Svindal (671 points) after 19 races.

It certainly takes some guts. I’ve only gone down hill skiing once, so I know that I certainly wouldn’t have it in me. Thankfully, there is zero chance of being in that position, heh…
