I read an article at The Sports Economist that discusses the ticket prices for infants at college football games. The problem comes from schools charging a full ticket price for infants, because even if they are sitting in their parents laps they usually have enough gear with them to take up a seat and it…
This week last year was centered almost entirely upon football, with the exception of my getting engaged and a tip on how to help yourself lose weight. Listed first but coming at the end of the week was my description of the best marathon training run ever, where I proposed to my wife after I…
Here are my picks for the first week’s games. I forgot to get this up yesterday, but I did have the Steelers picked to win. I thought that Miami was going to keep it close and figured that they had a good chance of taking it, but I wanted the Steelers to win so I…
The Pittsburgh Steelers have beaten the Miami Dolphins 28 to 17 in the opening game of the NFL season. I had cable television installed today at lunchtime, so I was able to watch the game at home this evening. Unfortunately, it looked like I was using rabbit ears. Hopefully they fix whatever that problem is…

Where did the Colts come from? Adam Vinatieri agreed to a contract with the Indianapolis Colts, and the difference between the money…
NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue is going to retire in July after having finally finished brokering a new collective bargaining agreement.
The NFL and the players union finally figured out what to do next year. The only details so far are that the collective bargaining agreement will continue for another 6 years, and free agency will now start on Friday morning at midnight. I am sure that more details will follow soon. Buffalo and Cincinatti were…
Defensive tackle Sam Adams was released by the Buffalo Bills this morning, which seems a little silly to me. They are saving $3.5 million in cap room, but he has been a solid starter for the last 3 years for the Bills. Marv Levy (the new general manager) claims that the Bill’s defense suffered last…
The Seattle Seahawks and Texas A&M have been squaring off for years, and their fight is now headed into federal court. The Seahawks like to market their crowd as the 12th man on the field; Texas A&M owns the trademark.
