Dean Karnazes has finished his Endurance 50 event by running his 50th marathon in New York City. Apparently he was only about 10 minutes behind me or so, but I did not wait around to talk to him again. He ran his final marathon in just over 3 hours. When I was reading the race…
I was disappointed with the crowds at the New York City Marathon. Perhaps I had some unreasonable expectations. When the crowd was cheering, they were awesome, but getting them to cheer should not be a chore. Other than my slight disappointment with the crowds, though, I loved the marathon and will definitely run it again…
In a collaborative effort with Scott over at Straight to the Bar, we we will be writing all about injuries for the month of November. You can expect a new article on the matter every week. This week, Scott describes the difference between strains and sprains. He also discusses the most common causes of strains…
I am going to try to get the Race Alerts system for the New York City Marathon to try to post my results as I pass each 5km mark automatically. I do not know how well it will work, but if anybody is interested in following my progress tomorrow then I hope that my progress…

Peyton Manning is going to show once more that he can’t play in New England. Dallas is going…
The New York City marathon technically has 3 starts, which do not converge for about 8 miles. These starts are assigned colors which correspond to the race map. The green start is to the left and gets a nice tour of Brooklyn, the orange start is in the center and goes to the left side…
I am running the New York City marathon in a few days. My bib number is 1419, and you will see me wearing an orange singlet sporting my college alumni crest (as seen in the picture). I can set up athlete alerts for 5 email addresses or cell phones. These people will be warned as…
I enjoy running marathons, and plan on running at least one in every state. I have picked up a few tips and tricks along the way as I find out what works for me and what does not. This series of articles originally began as some random tips off of the top of my head…
Saving the best for last, and what probably should have been the first article, I would like to share a few of things to consider when you are choosing which marathon you want to run. This is not a comprehensive list, but just the first few questions that spring to mind when I start thinking…
